Friends forever...!

What would life be without friends? Unimaginable… right? Friends are those relatives that you choose yourself and nurture the relationship into a beautiful lifelong bond. You find many friends across the journey of life at various stages. Some of them you tend to forget and the bond seems to loosen along with time but there are some who leave footprints in your heart and mind eternally! Those are your true friends and what we often refer to as ‘Friends Forever’. Along the journey of life we come across only a few friends who you consider as your friends forever and therefore it’s heartbreaking when its time to say ‘goodbye’ to those very friends with whom you have spent and shared some of the best times of your life! It’s extremely hard to find such friends who stand by you through thick and thin, who share your happiness with as much joy and shed tears of sorrow when you are in pain, who selflessly give without any expectations in return, who know the good and bad in you and yet love and care for you the way you are, with whom you can be yourself without any pretenses, who become your family when you are away from your own family.

Privileged are those who find such friends in life and bidding adieu to them is just as painful as it is when you are leaving your family behind to explore other avenues for a better future prospect. Although, such friendships don’t need you to be present there always… even without your presence the fragrance of friendship lingers forever! So no matter where you are, some friends stay with you emotionally rather than in the flesh and yet you feel closer to them than the ones who actually are present there with you!

 You don’t know if you ever will be able to find such remarkable friends again in life or not but at least have the satisfaction of knowing that you were fortunate enough to stumble on them once in life and had spent some wonderful moments together which eventually will turn out to be your most cherished memories when you turn back in time, a few years down the line. And I dedicate this post to such few friends who are our ‘Friends Forever’! Without whose friendship and support, life would have been a lot more difficult and dreary in this foreign land. So, Thank you all for always being there for us and for showing us what true friendship really means. We are going to miss you all…so very much! And hope that the beautiful bond of friendship we’ve created here in the past few years remains with us for eternity!

And here’s a small poem which me and my hubby tried writing reminiscing the past and the memorable times spent with friends. Please ignore the naivety of the poem as it is our first attempt in writing any kind of a poem. :P

Bahut yaad ayega woh guzara zamana

Woh dosto ke saath mehfil jamana,

Woh thus thus ke junk food khaana,

Woh milke saath trips pe jaana,

Woh raaton ko jag ke games khelna,

Woh subah ko uthke ek cup chai k liye jhagadna,

Woh ladkiyon se chhup kar tennis khelna,

Woh ladko se bach kar gossip karna,

Woh diwali aur new year mil kar manana,

Woh world cup ki jeet ka jashn manana,

Woh phone pe ghanto baatein karna,

Woh milke ek dusre ki taang khichna,

Woh pose badal badal ke photo khichwana,

Woh naye mehman ki aane ki khushiyan manana,

Woh bachon ke saath bachhe ban jaana,

Bahut yaad ayega woh bichada zamana,

Bas itni guzarish na hame bhul jaana.
